Or, tout comme les muscles se travaillent au cours d\u2019entrainements et d\u2019exercices, ce \u00ab mental \u00bb peut \u00e9galement se travailler. En effet, l\u2019adjectif \u00ab psychologique \u00bb s\u2019accompagne parfois d\u2019une connotation n\u00e9gative, et pour de nombreux sportifs, suivre une prise en charge psychologique serait alors synonyme d\u2019un probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 mentale. Pourtant, il n\u2019en est rien. La psychologie sportive peut se comparer \u00e0 un exercice physique (des pompes, des abdominaux, des tours de pistes) qui aurait pour but d\u2019augmenter le tonus musculaire et la r\u00e9sistance physique du sportif. De la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on, la psychologie sportive intervient pour am\u00e9liorer les capacit\u00e9s psychologiques et \u00e9motionnelles du sportif.
